Revolution Eyecare Opticians is registered to provide a range of community NHS eyecare services. Below are some of the locally enhanced NHS eyecare services we provide.
Direct cataract referral / Pre cataract pathway
We are registered to provide direct cataract referral. Under this service accredited optometrists can bypass the initial hospital out-patients appointments and refer those suitable for surgery directly into the pre assessment clinic, which helps reduce patient waiting times.
Post cataract assessment
After routine cataract surgery, all patients need to have a post-operative follow-up appointment at around 3-4 weeks following surgery, to assess the outcome once the eye has fully healed. Revolution Eyecare Opticians is registered to provide this service for many hospitals, including Royal Bolton Hospital and Spa-Medica.
Glaucoma repeat readings
The non-contact (air-puff) style eye pressure monitoring equipment sometimes finds high intraocular pressure which, when repeated with hospital grade equipment, is found to be within normal limits. Revolution Eyecare Opticians is registered to provide a repeat eye pressure reading service using hospital grade equipment. This saves patients from having to attend a potentially unnecessary hospital appointment.
