Adult's eyecare

Most adults should have an eye examination every two years, though in some cases, more frequent check-ups may be recommended. An eye test isn’t just about determining whether glasses are needed—it can also detect various conditions that affect both ocular and general health. For example, diabetes can impact the eyes, and regular examinations help monitor any changes.

Children’s eyecare

For many children, yearly eye exams are advised, and these are provided free of charge under the NHS. While basic vision screenings may be conducted at school, a visit to an optician offers a more thorough assessment. Some children may not report vision problems, making regular eye tests especially important. While adults may experience headaches or eyestrain when they need glasses, children could suffer long-term visual damage without proper corrective lenses. Poor vision can lead to headaches, difficulty focusing, and challenges with concentration—potentially affecting their education and overall development.

Spectacles

As an independent practice, we work with a wide variety of manufacturers and suppliers, allowing us to offer frames and lenses to suit all budgets, styles, and lifestyles. We provide free NHS complete spectacles for eligible patients (see here), and for those looking to upgrade, we stock designer brands such as Ray-Ban, Armani, and Michael Kors. Most children’s glasses are fully covered by the NHS optical voucher, though designer frames are available for an additional fee.

Contact lenses

Considering a break from wearing glasses? Why not explore the convenience of contact lenses? At Revolution Eyecare Opticians, we offer a wide selection of contact lenses, ensuring high-quality options tailored to your visual requirements and lifestyle. Thanks to advancements in modern lens designs, we can successfully fit most patients with high-performance lenses. The extensive variety of disposable lenses available makes it easier than ever to find a solution that fits both your needs and budget.

Repairs

We also offer frame repairs, whether it’s a simple replacement of nose pads, screws, or side tips, or more complex fixes requiring laser soldering.

For children under 16, the NHS provides GOS 4 repair or replacement vouchers for damaged or lost glasses. In most instances, this fully covers the cost of a repair or a new pair. Since there is no limit to the number of vouchers issued, your child never has to go without glasses. If you require this service, simply contact us, and we’ll take care of everything!
