Adult's eyecare
Most adults should have their eyes examined every two years, and sometimes more frequent eye exams may be advised. An eye examination isn’t just about testing if glasses are required, many conditions affecting both general and ocular health can be detected during an eye examination. Certain health conditions such as diabetes can affect the eye and regular eye exams allow monitoring for ocular changes.
Children’s eyecare
For many children yearly eye examinations are recommended and are provided free for children under the NHS. A basic screening may be provided at school, but a more comprehensive assessment is provided by visiting an optician. Some children don’t complain if they have a problem with their eyes or vision, which makes having regular eye examinations important. Adults may just suffer headaches or eyestrain when not wearing glasses, however children can suffer long lasting visual damage from not having the correct glasses. Headaches and problems focusing can severely impact a child’s ability to concentrate and have a negative impact on their education.
Spectacles
As an independent practice we deal with all manufactures and suppliers, so can offer our patients frames and lenses to suit all budgets, styles and lifestyles. We have a range of free NHS complete spectacles for eligible patients (see here), or you can upgrade to a designer pair such as Ray-Ban, Armani, Michael Kors and more. Most of our children’s glasses are fully funded by the NHS optical voucher, and we also have a range of children’s designer frames that are available for an upgrade fee.
Contact lenses
Fancy a break from wearing glasses? Why not give contact lenses a try?
At Revolution Eyecare Opticians we offer a vast range of contact lens options, supplying only the highest quality contact lenses, and can fit them to meet your visual demands and lifestyle needs. Modern contact lens designs means we can successfully fit most patients with high performance lenses. The plethora of disposable lenses available makes it easier than ever to find contact lenses to suit your individual needs and budget.
Repairs
From simple nose pad, screw or side tip replacements, to more sophisticated repairs that may require laser soldering, we can arrange repairs to all types of metal, plastic and rimless frames.
Children under the age of 16 are entitled to an NHS GOS 4 repair, or replacement voucher, if their glasses are damaged or lost. In most cases this fully covers the cost of a repair, or a replacement pair of spectacles. There is no limit to the number of vouchers that can be issued, so there is no need for your child to be without glasses. If you require this service, please contact us and we will arrange everything.
